We are going PRINT!

It is with great excitement that I announce the biggest Swing the Fly news ever: We are launching PRINT!

When we launched in 2013 as an online magazine, print was not an option that was considered due to our budget and a concern over environmental impacts. Over the past year while attending several Spey events and chatting about Swing the Fly with both our readers and contributors a common theme emerged; the request to see Swing the Fly in print. We began to look into the print idea early this summer and were encouraged to find that it seemed more possible than previously thought. Parts of the print industry have changed becoming more and more environmentally friendly. We were able to find a printer on the cutting edge of Green Printing and we figured out a plan for Swing the Fly using 100% recycled paper, a vegetable based ink, and even printed at a plant powered by wind energy. We now feel confident that we can print Swing the Fly in an environmentally responsible way. Swing the Fly in print will be 132 pages, perfect bound and on heavy paper stock. Full of stunning photos, inspiring stories, and all the things you’ve come to expect from the online magazine. This will be a magazine with the feel of a small book that we know you will hang onto for years to come. Swing the Fly will still be published quarterly. The first print publish date is Jan, 2016. This coming issue promises to be one of our best yet! -Photo Essays from world-renowned fishing photographers Jeff Bright and Aaron Goodis.
