Our friends at Scientific Anglers have a NEW Spey line range for all you Trout Spey-ers. The Spey Lite series includes an Integrated Scandi (20-25'), Integrated Skagit, and Skagit head (11-18'). They are available in a wide range of lightweight grain-ages (150 to 360 grains) for the new push of Trout Spey Rods.

I recently test the Spey Lite Integrated Scandi on a couple of different rods (Loop, T&T) and was really impressed with the overall line and a few specifics:

1: This is the first true "Trout" Scandi I am aware of, it has the delicacy to gently present small soft hackles on long leaders but retains plenty of punch for a conehead bugger presented with the new SA SONAR sinking leaders.

2. I am normally a shooting head guy (with mono running line) but the integrated line allows you to retrieve the fly in tight without the loop to loop connections. I was really impressed with how much "jump" the line had off the rod tip considering the integrated head. To me, this is no easy task in a line designed at such light grain weights...they did awesome with it.

3. The muted horizon color is well thought out for presenting flies to wary trout.
